We're normally used to hearing pianist Alan Broadbent in trios or more intimate settings – which makes this sextet session a really nice surprise – as Braodbent's piano heads up a group with Sam Dillon on tenor, Scott Wendholt on trumpet, Eric Miller on trombone, Harvie S on bass, and Lucals Ebeling on drums! There's a richness to the music that brings out a whole different side of Broadbent's talents, and reminds us that he can be a great arranger, with an ability to really let players sparkle with a lot of color. Titles include "Covenant", "Prelude To Peace", "Journey Home", "Clifford Notes", "Another Time", and "The Long Goodbye".
